         On
Retreat with Fr. Ron Rolheiser, omi
        Over
the past few years Oblate Media and Communications have released several
presentations - using a DVD format - given by Ron Rolheiser, renowned
author, teacher and theologian. The topics of these presentations are
engaging, and seem to “speak” to participants of any age.

Due to the amount of information contained in each presentation, these DVD’s are frequently paused, to allow participants the opportunity to reflect on the material presented, respond to questions that invite them to reflect on how this material relates to their own lives, and engage in small group discussion. Each participant is given a detailed handout that summarizes the content of the presentation.

  Ronald Rolheiser, a Roman Catholic
priest and member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI),
is president of the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas.
He is a community-builder, lecturer and writer. His books are popular
throughout the English-speaking world and his weekly column is carried
by more than sixty newspapers worldwide. The Passion of Christ An Ecumenical Retreat Queen's House Retreat and Renewal Centre, Saskatoon Saturday March 19, 2016 9:30am - 3:30pm Cost: $55 - includes lunch; $45 - bring your own lunch To register call 306-242-1916 or email receptionist@queenshouse.org Through Scripture and examples from ordinary life, Ron Rolheiser gives new understanding and encouragement in how we can give not only our life to the world but how we can also give our death to the world. Often when we think of “the passion” we think of Christ’s physical suffering and death but in the Agony of the Garden, the Gospels do not emphasize Jesus’ physical sufferings. Rather, the Gospel writers want us to understand (archetypal) “Jesus the lover,” who undergoes moral and emotional sufferings without resentment or bitterness. God’s strength comes to us when we are exhausted and open to being transformed. Using a DVD featuring a compelling educator, Fr. Ron Rolheiser omi, Sarah Donnelly will facilitate an engaging Lenten retreat for all those who are searching to deepen their spiritual life during this reflective time of year. While each presentation stands on its own participants might also consider attending Living A Life Without Resentment (The Cross of Christ Retreat), Saturday March 12, 2016 at Queen's House, 9:30am - 3:30pm.

		  This retreat is offered
in two parts, each session lasting 2 hours. In the past churches have
offered this retreat as a one-day event, 10am – 3pm. The DVD is paused
throughout the presentation to give participants the opportunity to reflect
on the presentation. Participants have found both The
Cross of Christ and The Passion of Christ DVDs to be extremely
        powerful, thought-provoking and for some, life-changing. |
